Audit product fit
Record the target coat types, full-body or detail use, daily session load and operator environment. Compare the exact clipper model against those tasks rather than judging a complete range as one product.
Confirm weight, controls, power format, blade mount, included accessories and maintenance method from current model information or an identified sample.
- Defined grooming task
- Exact model and revision
- Corded, cordless or dual-use operation
- Blade, comb and replacement supply
Audit claims and evidence
Ask the supplier to identify the source for each material specification, electrical rating, runtime, noise, waterproofing or compliance statement. Catalogue statements and certificate records serve different purposes.
For compliance documents, verify covered models and dates. If a fact cannot be matched to the proposed model, keep it out of the purchase specification until confirmed.
Audit sample and production controls
Use a repeatable sample scorecard and preserve the sample identity. Record functional result, blade fit, heat checks, cleaning, charging and accessories without inventing pass thresholds that the supplier did not agree to.
Before production, define incoming checks, assembly checks, final functional checks, nonconforming-product handling and what evidence accompanies shipment.
Audit service readiness
Clarify warranty scope, excluded damage, replacement parts, response route and who supports the destination market. A product range is difficult to sustain if the buyer cannot identify replacement blades, drives, batteries or approved service steps.
Finish the audit with a written gaps list. A supplier can remain under consideration while gaps are resolved; unknown should never be converted into a pass.
